Learn to Play Acoustic Guitar

The acoustic guitar has always been known as the traditional guitar. Its fraternal twin, the electric guitar, didn’t come into being until the
1930’s. The acoustic guitar, on the other hand dates back to 1779. other similar instruments have been around for thousands of
years, and are considered close relatives to the acoustic guitar. For example the oud and lute.

Of all guitars, the most used is the acoustic guitar. Bands such as Nirvana and Green Day, use them in their unplugged sessions all
the time. An acoustic guitar produces a sound unlike the loud electric guitar because there is no amplification of the sound. The
acoustic guitar lends itself to emotion filled sounds.

Don’t worry if you are thinking about taking lessons on the acoustic guitar, it is easier than you might think. Choosing the right guitar
will be very important, especially for the beginner. You should choose an acoustic guitar that fits your body type.

If you are just starting out and don’t already have your own guitar, it may be tempting to borrow one from a friend. This is a mistake
that many beginners make. Purchase a new or used acoustic guitar that has the right dimensions for you.

Any music store should carry several different types and sizes of acoustic guitar. Also, you may want to look in the classified ads, or
online for a used guitar. Always be sure that it is the right fit for you.

Now that you have purchased you new or used acoustic guitar, the next step will be deciding how you will learn to play it. Everyone
has different schedules so pick a way that is best for you. Here are some ways that you can start on your guitar learning journey:

Traditional lessons-A majority of beginner guitarists start here. Find a qualified acoustic guitar teacher that can give you private
lessons. This way you have a coach that can help you through the rough spots in your training.

One of the main disadvantages of taking private one on one lessons is the high cost. Private lessons are usually on a set schedule
and can be hard to fit into a busy lifestyle. You also have to physically show up at the lessons wherever they may be held.

Guitar Lessons Online-The internet is a great place to learn practically anything you want, and that includes the acoustic guitar. Some of the free online lessons are pretty good, but i would recommend finding a quality paid course. They will be more likely to be better organized and more well suited for the beginner.

The advantages in purchasing an online guitar course are that you pay only once and you can learn in the comfort of your own home
or anywhere you have a computer. Think of all the money you could save!

Learning to play the acoustic guitar will be a fun and enjoyable experience if you follow the steps in this article. You will be surprised
at how fast you progress. Best of luck to you…now just go do it!
